Shri Shri Param Pujya Guruji 108 Suryakanth Jyotishi Maharaj, was a saint from Kashmir, who hailed from a long, unbroken line of Kashmiri Gurus, receiving the mantle of Guru-ship from His Revered Mother, which She in turn had received from Her exalted Father – a great mystic worshipper of Shiv Shakti. Guruji’s lineage originates from the 11th Rudra Avatar of Shiva, the eternal flame of which He further imparted, according to the ancient Indian Guru Shishya Parampara, to our beloved Shri Shri Karunamai Ma, fondly called Ammaji.

The mentor, spiritual guiding light and most revered teacher of our beloved Ammaji, His Holiness Shri Shri Param Pujya Guruji, belonged to an illustrious Kashmiri family of Bhakts. Born and brought up in the small town of Bijbehara in the Anant Nag district of Kashmir, Guruji’s childhood was steeped in traditional Kashmiri values and spirituality, with strong emphasis on the worship of Shiv Shakti. While His spiritual Diksha emanated from His Divine Mother, from a young age He was trained in the arts of Vedic scriptures, Tantra, Karam Kand and Astrology by the many age-less mystics, saints and scholars who reside deep in the jungles, caves and mountains of the Himalayas.

Guruji soon mastered all these subjects alongwith other known forms of the mystical arts and sciences. He was sent by his parents to Benares, where he completed higher studies in Sanskrit and the scriptures. In time he came to be regarded as an authority on Kaivalya Marg and Kashmiri Shaivism. Guruji had numerous followers in the then peaceful Kashmir and was renowned for healing people through His powers of worship. He would remain absorbed in God consciousness through meditation and Kirtan for hours. He was a prophetic visionary with an extraordinary power of clairvoyance who could induce confidence in His devotees to enable them to overcome even the most challenging situations in their lives.

Though he himself never indulged in performing miracles, nor co-related Divinity with magic, it appears that most of His devotees felt the mystical influence of His Holy Powers in the form of healing of incurable diseases, easing of most tormenting situations of life, quick relief from pain, and many more incidents which are no less than miracles in their own right.

His message to the world was the practice of Eternal Love for God, Gyan, Bhakti and Sewa.Our beloved Ammaji was blessed by His Holiness Shri Shri Param Pujya Guruji, and initiated into the Divine Life of Eternal Bhakti.
